Family. It’s first, it’s forever and it’s the foundation of my everything.
I come from a family that’s sincerely Southern and rich in faith, fellowship and fun. We welcome everyone into our home, tell stories around the dinner table, celebrate one another, laugh out loud, and live to serve others. Growing up, I fondly remember family trips to Disney World, a playground for my creative soul and the happiest place on Earth! I wanted to create something just as magical and meaningful for my family and for others.
I took that entrepreneurial dream to college, earned a degree in business marketing and graphic design, only to find myself confined by working for someone else and unable to pursue my passion. My free spirit longed to fly. My family supported my dream, and with a $1,500 loan from my parents, I launched Moss+Crown, a collection of Southern inspired apparel for women. Moss+Crown took off like wild fire and I was lucky enough to enlist my sister to keep up with the demand. Isabella left nursing school to help me run the growing business and we never looked back. Three years later, Bomb Party™ was created.
I returned to my design studio with an idea: create an entirely new concept in jewelry, a fizzy ring bomb revealed through LIVE parties that holds not just a gemstone but a finished piece of jewelry, designed custom and a complete surprise. It was DIY at its finest. We had our first assembly line, creating ring bombs in our kitchen at home and taking our concept to Facebook. It went viral within weeks and hit over one million views within a month! We were onto something big and we knew this was going to change people's lives forever.
One week later, life stopped. I went from my highest high to my lowest low: cancer. I was diagnosed with Stage III Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and we were completely shocked and blind sided to say the least. Again, my family rallied and we made a plan to persevere and beat it, together. I drew strength from their love and refused to give up on my dreams. I kept growing Bomb Party™ while fighting cancer through six months of intense chemotherapy. Bella and our friend, Anfernee, stepped in to run live parties while I was behind the scenes crafting our next step: a business opportunity for other families to pursue their dreams. My customers became an extension of my family, my constant cheerleaders and a lifeline of positivity while undergoing intense chemotherapy. They affirmed my belief that people become more when they come together. Our customers wanted to sell our jewelry and host their own parties! Their support built my dream, now it was my turn to empower them to realize their own.
Our Bomb Party™ family continues to grow beyond my wildest dreams. While we’ve grown, the intimacy remains. I’m proud that our first leaders are still with us, many now part of our Advisory Leadership Council. I’m grateful for the thousands more Party Reps and customers who have joined us. They are the heart of our big Southern family.
